Obituary

Patsy  Oeser passed from this life on Thursday, May 21 st 2020 in Springfield Missouri.

She was born October 9 th , 1933 in Glendale, California to Clifton L. J. Hawley and Mildred Imo Doggett. Patsy was raised on the Hearst Ranch at San Simeon, California where her father was a foreman and her stepmother, Bertha Hawley, was an employee at the Hearst Castle. Patsy graduated from Cambria High School in Cambria, California. She graduated from Woodbury College in Los Angeles with a secretarial degree and went to work at Camp San Luis Obispo, California where she met 1LT Richard Oeser.

She married 1LT Richard Walter Oeser on May 10 th , 1953 in Cambria, California. Patsy was an Army wife as Richard made a career in the United States Army. The couple moved to numerous duty stations in the continental United States and overseas during their service. Patsy and Richard moved to California after retiring from the military.

The couple had five children. Jeffery Richard, Curtis Clifton, Susan Jane, Karen Louise, and Kenneth Allen.

Patsy was a loving wife and mother. She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling. Her family remembers, she always wanted to "Go"! After their children were grown and left home, Patsy and Richard moved to Shell Knob, Missouri.

Over a twenty-year period, Patsy and Richard sponsored numerous foreign exchange students from many nations from around the world.

When Richard passed away, Patsy worked for several years as a reporter/salesperson for the "Shell Knob Rattler". After retiring from the Rattler, she lived in Texas for several years and returned to Springfield two years ago.

Patsy was preceded in death by her father and mother, her stepmother, brothers Boyd and wife Nelda Hawley, Robert, and wife Barbara Hawley.

She is survived by son Jeffery and wife Julie Oeser, son Curtis and wife Laureen Oeser, daughter Susan and husband Art Free, daughter Karen and husband John Will, and son Kenny Oeser, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in the National Cemetery at a later date.
