Patricia Eileen (Egan) Sanger, age 85 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease on June 11, 2017 in Springfield. She was born in San Diego, California, on October 17, 1931, to Lyle and Elizabeth (Bales) Egan.

She spent most of her life in Iowa. As a child during the depression she grew up surrounded by family in Sigourney, Iowa. She was especially close to her sister, Jacqueline; great grandparents, aunts, uncles and her first cousins. As an adult, she made her home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she met her husband, John Sanger, while working at the airport.

Patricia worked for United Airlines while John worked for Ozark Airlines. She married John in February, 1961. Patricia had a long and enjoyable 39-year career at United Airlines. She started as a reservation agent in 1957 but spent most of her career as a ticket agent eventually retiring in 1996. Her family was completed by two sons, Douglas Sanger of Anaheim, California and Michael Sanger of Springfield.

She enjoyed traveling and visited many places in Europe, Asia, Australia and the South Pacific. Despite her successful career, her family was always her priority. She was an outstanding cook and made every visitor to her home feel welcome. She leaves behind her two sons; two grandchildren, Michael John Sanger of Springfield and Danielle Sanger of Shanghai, China; a daughter-in-law, Amanda Sanger and a son-in-law, Phiraphon Thiemthat.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Jacqueline Westphal; and her husband John.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland St, Springfield, MO.
