Norma Lee Brayfield, 85, of Springfield, MO, passed away September 1, 2019. She was born July 2, 1934, in Versailles, MO, to Charles and Bertha Walker.
Norma worked as a legal secretary for many years and retired from the Missouri Attorney General's office. She greatly enjoyed her career and the many friends that she met along the way. She was a lifelong member of Pathways United Methodist Church. She also loved to travel and host family gatherings. Her famous turkey pot pie and chocolate pie were a family and church favorite. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She spent many hours watching from the bleachers to cheer on her grandchildren.
In 2007, Norma put together a book of her family history which included many photos and a very special handwritten note to her family. She was fond of the written word and wanted to make sure her history could be passed on after she was gone.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Norma is survived by her daughters, M'liss Hay and husband Mark and Julie Wright and husband Randy; grandchildren, J'Nell Simmons and husband Jeremy, Joshua Jones, Tyler Wright and wife Abby and Jordan Wright and wife Jaime; great-grandchildren, Kayda and Everett Wright; lifelong family friend, Pat Schaffitzel; and many other extended family members and friends.
Her family and friends will miss her infectious laughter and welcoming smile.
In lieu of flower, memorial donations may be made in Norma's name to The Springfield Humane Society or Pathways United Methodist Church.
