Obituary
Nancy Carolyn (Brown) Whitaker, 75, Springfield, Mo, died Friday Oct 15, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born in Independence, MO and grew up in the Blue Springs area.
Mrs. Whitaker graduated from Blue Springs High School, and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Northeast Missouri State University. She moved to Springfield in 1976 and was a teacher of Business at Ash Grove High School for almost 30 years. She also worked as a Tax consultant for H & R Block for over 20 years. She loved quilting and was a member of the Ozarks Piecemakers Quilt Guild.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margery E. Brown; her brother, Lawrence S. Brown Sr.; and a grandson, Dremont J. Evans.
She leaves her father, Lawrence L. Brown; her son, Jeffery S. (wife Julie) Whitaker and their family of Springfield, MO; her daughter, Chris (Whitaker) Evans (Husband Chuck) and their family of Greensboro, NC and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be Saturday at 10:30 am, October 24th at the Jones Chapel in Odessa, MO.
