Nancy "Nan" Ellen Pentecost, 85, formerly of Danville, IL and for the past 30 years of Ozark, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 3:48pm, surrounded by her family. She was born in Roseburg, OR on June 4, 1937, and was the daughter of Doyle W. and Anna "Ann" Smith. Nan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert " B ob" Smith of San Bernardino, CA and grandson Michael S. Flageolle of Mountain Grove, MO.

Nan is survived by her sister Marian (George) Rankins of Crescent City, CA, her sister Virginia "Ginny" (Bob) Wagner of Green Valley, AZ, her son John L Ellis of Crawfordsville, IN, her daughters Vickie L (Jeff) Slavik of Westville, IL and Barbara "Barb" L (Stan) Flageolle of Lebanon, MO, as well as 8 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Nan attended college in San Bernardino, CA and worked as a legal secretary for several attorneys in Danville, IL, Crescent City, CA and Prescott, AZ before working in the math department at Yavapai College in Prescott, AZ and later at MSU (formerly SMSU) in Springfield, MO, where she retired.

Nan was very active in Countryside Christian Church in Nixa, MO. She had many dear friends at church and in her cross-stitching group. Nan loved her cats and also enjoyed reading, knitting and sewing. More than anything, Nan treasured her faith, her family and her friends.

Nan's family greatly appr eciates the compassionate care that she received from the staffs at Ozark Nursing Care Center in Ozark, MO and from Compassus Hospice Care. A memorial service to celebrate Nan's life and legacy will be held at 3:00pm on August 27th at Countryside Christian Church, 3350 W. Jackson St., Nixa, MO with former pastor Rodney McCann officiating. There will not be a graveside service.
