Nancy Jean Kuhns

Nancy Jean Kuhns, age 56, passed away peacefully on October 14 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Born on March 31, 1970 to John and Sandra Kuhns, Nancy dedicated her life to the service of others. For 31 years, she worked as a skilled and deeply committed surgical technologist at Mercy Hospital. Her precision, calm demeanor under pressure, and dedication to patient care earned her the deep respect of her surgeons, nurses, and colleagues.

Outside of the operating room, Nancy possessed an equally fierce passion for animal welfare. Though she lived independently, her home was rarely quiet; she opened her heart and doors to countless foster dogs over the years.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
