Mitzi Sue Slaughter, 70, of Springfield, MO, passed away September 19, 2021. She was born July 28, 1951, in Springfield, MO, to Howard and Henrietta Smith.

Mitzi liked to go to the movies and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family, and often played bingo. Through the years she worked at Twin Oaks Country Club, Texaco Truck Stop, and Shoney's.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Smith and Henrietta Parks; sisters, Terri Smith and Tammy Smith; brother, Henry Smith; and grandson, Carlos Lopez.

She is survived by her husband, John Slaughter; children, Darla Goetz and John Robert Slaughter; grandchildren, Victoria Johnson, Michael Zinser, and Zoila Lopez; great-grandchildren, Johnnie, Brentlee, Birdie, and RaeLynn Johnson, Nyiah Stevens, Blaine Stevens, Serenity Zinser, Lillian Zinser, and Genesis Zinser; sisters, Toni Smith and Louise Coble; brother, Steve Smith and Brenda Zinser; niece, Michelle Choate; nephew, Donnie Coble III; and many other family members and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
