IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Miles Rolland
Alexander
March 5, 1957 – September 14, 2017
Miles Rolland Alexander Jr., age 60, of Ozark, Missouri died on September 14, 2017, in South Cox Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
Miles is survived by his loving wife, Patty, of Ozark; his sister, Pam (Rodney) Humbyrd, of Ava, Missouri; and his brother, Bert (Lana) Alexander, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews, and many life long friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miles Alexander Sr.; his mother, Eleanor (Boykin) Alexander; his sister, Patricia Kaye Alexander; and twin brothers that died at birth.
Miles was born on March 5th, 1957 in Sumter, South Carolina, to parents Miles and Eleanor.
He held a variety of jobs over the years, but he always considered himself and automotive 'parts man'. He worked in parts at Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield for nearly 20 years and then went on to work in the high performance car industry that he loved. His final position was with Motorcars International as the parts manager and service director for them, leaving them after 10 years after a serious eye injury forced him into early retirement.
Miles often said if he died today, he had done everything he had wanted to do in his life, so he would have considered his a full life. One of favorite things was telling people that he drove not only a semi, Dale Earnhardt Sr's stock car, but Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and his all time favorite, the McCaren F-1.
He married Patricia Ann Pruitt on September 11, 2001.
He enjoyed working around any car, fishing, and shooting pool. His family and friends will always remember him as a person always wanting to help others. His final unselfish act was to be an organ donor in order to help others.
A visitation/service is scheduled for Friday, October 6th, 2017, from 6-8 p.m, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Miles's life. The family would like to especially thank the stepdown unit and nurses at South Cox Hospital for the great care he received. Flowers can be sent to Midwest Cremation & Funeral Services, 2026 W. Woodland Street, Springfield, MO 65807.
