IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mike E.
Martin
September 3, 1971 – April 29, 2022
Mike E. Martin, age 50 of Strafford, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. He was born to Joyce and Doy Martin on September 3, 1971 in Springfield, Missouri.
Mike was an over-the-road truck driver for almost 13 years. He was diagnosed with colon cancer when he was just thirty-four years old. While he was a cancer survivor, his health condition forced him to give up his professional driving career that he loved so much. Mike never once complained about getting cancer or any of the surgeries or treatments he had to endure. He was determined, courageous, and an inspiration to all that knew him. Mike never knew a stranger. He had friends of all ages. Mike had an especially soft heart for the elderly and people in need. He was always there, day or night, when someone needed help. Mike never married or had children after he was diagnosed with cancer. He loved kids and always wanted to be a family man like his dad. Mike loved anything Apple technology related. He enjoyed collecting every color and kind of cord to connect to his devices. Mike had a passion for football, especially his favorite player of all time – Brett Favre. He was an amazing son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend. Mike will live forever in the hearts of his family and everyone's life he touched with his kind heart and gentle smile.
Mike is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Joyce and Doy Martin. He also leaves behind three sisters and two son-in-law's, Debbie Martin of Florida, Glenda and husband Michael DeFontes of Battlefield, Patty and husband Scott Martin of Strafford; and one niece, Heather and husband Jordan Fuellner of Republic.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mike's name.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
