In Loving Memory of Michael Donley Sr.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael J. Donley Sr, who passed away on December 25th, 2024. Born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, on December 16th, 1949, he led a life filled with love, service, and dedication to his family, friends, and country.

Mike attended Linton Hall Military Academy before proudly serving in the United States Navy for four years. After his service, he learned the construction trade from his father-in-law, Charles Rosenbaum Sr., building a fulfilling career that allowed him to use his skills to help others.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, and a loving father to his children.

Mike is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Leslie and fiancé Mike; son, Michael Jr. and wife Samantha; as well as son, Charles (CJ) and wife Ashley. His grandchildren brought him great joy: Anthony and wife Jessica, Vincent and wife Lauren, David, Bronwyn, and Novalee. He was proud of his great-grandchildren: Nehemiah, Ezra, Elisha, and Baby Lozy. He is also survived by his sister, Judy, husband Tim; and many other loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Donley; his mother, Leslie Faye Moore; his stepfather, John; his brother, Jimmy; his sister, Joanie; his in-laws, Charles and Yada Rosenbaum, brothers-in-law, Don, Wayne, Johnny, and Ralph; and sister-in-law, Nell.

Mike had a great passion for Louie L'Amour books and enjoyed working on model ships in his spare time. He was a fan of classic TV shows, especially Gunsmoke and Perry Mason, and often shared his enjoyment of them with his loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at Triad Church, 705 Sunshine Way Greensboro NC, 27409 on March 15th, 2025, at 4 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to: https://www.veteranscommunityproject.org/buy-a-brick
