IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mike
Conrad
January 28, 1944 – June 24, 2023
Michael Dean Conrad Sr. was born on January 28th, 1944, in Knoxville, Iowa to Floris and Marcel Conrad. He was the oldest of 9 children. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcel; his mother, Floris; two brothers, Martin and Melvin; and two sisters, Marcella and Marsha. Among survivors of his siblings are Mark, Montie, Marvin and Marilyn.
On January 25th, 1967, he married Claudia Harrelson of Neveda, Iowa. They built their life together for many years in Iowa and then relocated to Missouri in 1987.
Together they have four children, Michael Dean Conrad Jr (Charleen Conrad), Michelle Denne Smith (John Smith), Amber Lynn McVay, and Rhiannon Renne Franks (Greg Franks); and fourteen grandchildren, Cayla Goldschmidt (David), Caytlin Sperandio (Jacob), Brett Wiseman (Sabrina), Alyia Eaton (Caleb), Robbie Prewitt, Cheyenne Debruyn (Jacob), Rebecca Rhinehart, Billy Greer, Dakota McVay, Shaylie Hodge (Jonathon), Brent McVay, Kristy McCaslin, Sinjin Franks (Nicole) and Solitaire Franks; and eleven great grandchildren.
Mike was known as "Pops", "Grandpa", and "Slim". He loved his family and talking like Daffy Duck to all the grandchildren and giving an "atta boy" to anyone who deserved it. He always looked forward to family gatherings and when asked what his favorite meal was, he said, "anything that mom (Claudia) made". Making precious memories with family and friends playing pool in his "mancave" in the garage were among the best times he had. Working in the yard was one of his favorite past times too. He loved looking forward to his wonderful hope, being here on earth when he is resurrected, helping make the earth a beautiful paradise.
Being a semi-driver was in his blood. He loved the open road. Mike always enjoyed reminiscing with his trucking buddies about their many adventures together.
Once retired, Mike faced many health challenges, but that gave him the extra time to really focus on Jehovah and the beautiful promises for the future. Mike had really made the truth his own and dedicated his life to Jehovah on November 10, 2019. Mike would always be ready for every meeting, whether in person or on zoom.
He just loved to be at any occasion with his personal and spiritual family.
Services will be held July 16th, at 3pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1150 N Eisenhower Monett, MO.
