Michelle (Shelly) Allaway Thompson, age 63, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born August 18, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of James and Bernice Allaway. She graduated from Romeoville High School in 1976. She became a mother to her pride and joy, Timothy Thompson (Little Tim) in 1978.

Shelly was a nurse for years in Chicago, Illinois. She then moved to Missouri and worked at the chest hospital for many years after that. When Tim graduated high school, they worked at a gym together and she LOVED taking care of the kids. Shelly cared so much about others and enjoyed taking care of people.

She loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church at The Well Church.

Shelly's Family was the most important to her and she loved spending time with them. One of her greatest joys was watching her son, Tim, play ball. Once her granddaughter Isabelle was born, she devoted all the time that she could to her. She loved her so much. She enjoyed spending time at the lake and getting a tan with her family.

Shelly thoroughly enjoyed reading, treats like pizza and chocolate, and chatting on the phone with her sisters.

Our memories of her will always be cherished and she will never be forgotten.

Shelly was survived by her son, Timothy and Jessica Thompson of Springfield, MO; two brothers, James Allaway of Cape Fair, MO and Jeff Allaway of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Sandy Baughn of Dallas, TX and Mary Kay Allaway of Marshfield, MO; one granddaughter, Isabelle Thompson of Springfield, MO and a host of extended family and friends.

Shelly is preceded in death by her parents, James and Bernice Allaway and one nephew, Jeffrey Allaway.
