Obituary
On Friday, January 18, 2019, Mike Young passed away due to an illness at the age of 60. Mike will forever be missed by his daughter, Megan (Jordan) Hicks; son, Garrett (Stormy) Young; brother, Kenneth L Young; nephews, Matt and Adam Young; as well as many family members and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Louis Young; mother, Darla Young; and his aunts and uncles.
Mike was born May 28, 1958 in Cookeville, TN, to Louis and Darla Young. He was raised in Escondido, CA and Mt Vernon, MO. Mike graduated from Mt Vernon High School in 1976. He went on to start a career in various construction jobs. Mike enjoyed building masterpieces by hand with wood and glass.
During his free time Mike enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Mike in his free time. He also spent many years raising his beloved bulldogs.
A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held from 2-4 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland St, Springfield, MO.
