Obituary for Michael A. Stone, PsyD

Michael Allen Stone, 74, passed at Mercy Hospital in Springfield MO 05/14/2025 after a long illness. He was born 01/24/1951 to Evelyn Stone and D.A. "Bud" Stone, who along with two brothers preceded him in death. He is survived by wife Jennifer Lee Stone.

Mike was passionate about pop music of the 50's-70's. He was a studio sound engineer for Steve Smith and Larry Hampton. Mike had his own studio in downtown Springfield where he worked with Randle Chowning and other prominent Springfield musicians. He provided early support for the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and would pride himself being the first 'roadie'. I will always have heartfelt thanks for his support, help and encouragement through a mix of wonderful and very challenging times.

In midlife he achieved his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and spent the remainder of his career in that endeavor. He was loved by his patients.

He was stalwart to the point of bold hardheadedness in how he chose to live his life. At times being exasperating to his family and friends but his charm always prevailed. He made it to age 74 despite himself, a major accomplishment. You did it Michael!
