Michael John McLaughlin passed away peacefully, surrounded by his friends and family on July 11, 2024. Michael was born on July 20, 1967, in Virginia Beach.

Being in a Navy family he also lived in San Diego, Washington D.C. and Chicago, finally settling in Highlandville, Missouri. Michael loved dogs and fostered 15 Labradors over several years while living in Chicago. He kept the last foster dog, Baxter, as his forever dog. Later in his life Michael was diagnosed with Kennedy's Disease which left him in a wheelchair, but he still managed to take Baxter for long walks while confined to his wheelchair.

Michael is survived by his sister Meghan Riley (Chris), his nieces Stella and Claire Riley, all of Chicago and his brother Edward McLaughlin of Syracuse, NY, also his Uncle Joseph Medicis and several cousins.

Michael was predeceased by his parents Edward and Lorraine McLaughlin.
