Michael Hickey

Mike Hickey, aged 74, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at his home in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 29, 1952, in Topeka, Kansas, to Don and Hilma Hickey. Mike lived a life full of passion for his family, guitars, fishing, music, cars, and had a profound love for The Holy Bible. In 2002, Mike married Rozann Evans, and together they embarked on a beautiful second chapter. Their marriage was a testament to the fact that true love can arrive just when it is needed most. They shared 24 wonderful years, filling their home with laughter, love, evangelism, and incredible hospitality, opening their doors to anyone who needed refuge. The deep, mature companionship they shared was a blessing to all who witnessed it. Mike often told friends that Rozann was not just a partner, but his angel, best friend, and soulmate.

Mike is survived by his beloved spouse, Rozann Hickey; and his tribe, John Hickey (Virginia), John Evans (Arin), Jim Evans (Elizabeth), Sarah Hickey Canoy (Chip), Karen Hickey Davis (John), Amy Hickey Raby (Justin), 26 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Patti Hickey Grant, and Joni Hickey Boydston, as well as a wide circle of friends.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Monday, April 20 at Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. There will be a time of visitation at 11:00am followed by a memorial service at 12:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Mike’s memory and love of evangelism with a donation to Cherry Street Baptist Church supporting Asian Missions. Please include “In Mike Hickey’s Honor” with any donation.
