Michael Daniel Mike Barton, 52, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, September 6th, 2015. He was born on July 13, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Don and Violet Barton. Mike was a Water Treatment and Waste Management Operator in Mount Vernon for several years. In 2004, he attained a Waste Management Certificate from Neosho Community College. He enjoyed unplanned fishing trips to nowhere of any importance, camping trips that were always planned during a rainy weekend, and woodworking for his family and friends. He was a loyal KC Chiefs fan and swore that every season was going to be their season . He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don Barton. Survivors include his wife, Regina Barton; daughter, Crystal Richards; two grandsons, Collin and Landon Barton; and great-grandson, Gabriel Michael John Barton of the home. Their children, Garrin (Amber) Wilson of Beacon, IA; Garett Wilson of Centerville, IA; Nicole Barton of Fulton, MO., and Jessica Barton of Columbia, MO. Mike also leaves behind two siblings, Teresa (Mitch) Mason of Buffalo, MO., and Robert (Robin) Barton of Nixa, MO.; 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
