Merrill Muir Brockman, 78, was born to Marilynn and Wilfred Brockman on August 18th, 1943, in Boonville, MO and passed away Tuesday, July 5 th in Springfield, Missouri.

Merrill is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Diestel of Vancouver, Washington and Libby Brockman-Knight and husband Greg of Columbia, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Sagen Diestel of Vancouver, Washington and Kaya, Brendan, Keara and Blake Knight of Columbia, Missouri.  He is also survived by two brothers, Richard Brockman and family of St. Charles, Missouri and Don Brockman and family of Springfield, Missouri

Merrill loved the outdoors, spending much of his life fishing, camping, floating and spelunking, as well as spending time in National and State Parks. He loved traveling to uncover the beauty of the world especially on the backroads and hard to reach places. Merrill also loved to make music of all kinds and owned and played most instruments. He loved photography, collecting interesting things, playing cribbage, and reading great literature.

The family will host a private Celebration of Life and set him free on the banks of the Jack's Fork River.
