Melva Winifred Ray (Weaver) was born on January 7, 1946, in Lebanon, Missouri, to William Carl Weaver and Alice Ada Weaver (Elliot).
Melva departed this life surrounded by her family on May 8, 2026, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 1 day.
On November 28, 1973, she married Kennith Dale Ray, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kevin Leslie Oberlin; grandson, Jon Kevin Michael Donigan; and granddaughter, Elyssa Joe Hunt.
Melva is survived by her children, Kimberly Gilmlin (Steve) of Springfield, Missouri, Doyle Embry (Stephanie), Robert Ray (Crystal), Teressie Morgan (Jason), and Alice Hunt, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Kendra Handley (Jeffrey) of Leavenworth, Kansas. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Lee Anderson (John) of Marshfield, Missouri, along with 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Above all else, Melva's unwavering devotion was to care for her family. She always put their needs first and would do anything for those she loved.
Melva loved spending time with her family, four-wheeling on the farm, and caring for flowers, plants, and birds. She was known for her mischievous sense of humor and harmless practical jokes.
Melva was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. She found great joy in serving Jehovah and sharing Bible truths with others.
Her love, laughter, and kindness will be cherished always.
