Melissa Kay Vicory Heinicke, born May 8, 1963, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished sister whose strength, compassion, and unwavering love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Melissa was preceded in death by her loving parents, Doris Vance McDowell and William Steven Vicory; her dear brother, Mitchell Vicory; and her beloved nephew, Nathan Wade McClelland.

She is survived by her partner of 34 years, Alan Heinicke; her siblings, Michelle Hughes, Michael Vicory and Marissa Evans. Melissa's greatest pride and joy were her children, Mark Slade, Angela K. Furtado, Chet Crance, and Taylor Green. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Gary Muse, Gavin Muse, Madison Muse, Harmony Slade, and Addylynn Slade.

Melissa leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and connection that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire those she went before her.
