Obituary

Megan Rose Ferguson, of Springfield, was born March 20, 1992, to William Kent Ferguson and Mary Beth Ferguson. On October 10, 2015, at the age of 23, she died at Mercy Hospital.

Megan attended elementary school in Clever, MO, then moved to the Reeds Spring area where she attended middle school and graduated from Reeds Spring High School in 2010. Megan loved school, had many friends, was a good athlete, and was an excellent student. She was on the track team, a member of the Yearbook staff, the National Honor Society, and the A+ Program. Among other honors and awards she received were those for Outstanding Achievement in Math, Outstanding Achievement in Science and the George Washington Carver Award.

Megan was an accomplished artist, even having the illustrating of a published children s book to her credit. Her paintings hang in many homes. She attended OTC for a year and a half before going to work as an optometry technician for an eye glass company in Springfield.

Megan is survived by her parents, Kent and Mary Beth of Springfield; brother, Jesse Ferguson and his wife Christine of Clever; brother, Christopher Borden of Ozark, and sister, Elisa Jane of Springfield. Megan was very fond of her nephews, Buddy, Jaxon, Jameson and Uriah. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Don and Ella Jones of Galena and Lee Ferguson of Huntersville, NC; her Uncle Kerry and Aunt Cecilia Ferguson of Monterrey, Mexico; Aunt, Julie May of St. Louis; Uncle, Jeff David of Lesterville; cousins, Brittany and Zachary Ferguson of St. Louis and Jake May of Taiwan; and many other relatives and friends.

Megan was our bright and beautiful shining light while here with us on this earth. We loved her with all our hearts. May there be rejoicing in Heaven as her light shines among her heavenly family.

A celebration of Megan s life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 17, 2015, in the St Andrew Presbyterian Church, Hideaway Location, Galena, MO.
