Maurice "Dean" Melton departed this life on August 25, 2025. Born in Reeds Spring, MO on February 17, 1934.

He was preceded by his lovely wife of 68yrs, Georgia Melton; father, James Layton Melton; mother, Mary Magdalene Melton-Peace; daughter, Vickie Ehrie; son, Larry Cummings; and granddaughter, Tonya Morrison.

Dean is survived by his brother, JD Melton; sister, Carolyn Wade; grandchildren, Jeri Cummings, Jimmy Braye (Sherry), Terry Cummings (Debbie), and Missy Neumeyer (Chris). He has 7 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren. His good friend, Steve Yochum; neighbors, Bob Carrow, James and Carolyn McIntosh; his many friends at Enterprise and Joe's Tire Shop.

His smile and energy will be missed greatly, but we can be assured that he is dancing and rejoicing in Heaven with his lovely Georgia Lea.

There will be a small Celebration of Life to remember Dean Saturday from 5-8pm September 20, 2025, at Bellacino's Pizza 2856 S. Glenstone Ave, Springfield, MO.
