Marvin Robert Patterson, aged 72, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2015, surrounded by friends and loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lewis; mother, Evelyn Patterson; sisters, Kandis Davis and Rita Parson; brother, Tom Patterson; nieces Krista Peterson and Shauna Patterson; and nephews, Tim Parsons, Sheldon Patterson and Thomas Davis. Although it is difficulty to sum up seven decades of a rich and well-loved life in a few words Marvin will be remembered as a kind, calm, and gregarious man who was beloved by a large and far-flung group of friends and family. He was deeply spiritual, endlessly curious and a joy to be around. Marvin served in the United States Air Force in Viet Nam and became a lifelong advocate for peace, justice and government that is fair and limited. He spent 35 years as highly skilled baker, owning and operating bakeries in three communities: Santa Paula, CA; Willits, CA; and Branson, MO. His hobbies included a robust catalog of outdoor activities, from kayaking and boating, to playing a much golf as possible. He also enjoyed any activity that enabled him to spend time with his multitude of friends, whether playing games like backgammon, cards, or boules, or watching college and professional sports. A Celebration of Marvin s life will be held at 4:30 PM, Sunday, December 6, 2015, in the Point Royale Clubhouse, Branson, MO.
