Martha Ann "Martie" Belew passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, at 10:35 a.m. from a short illness. Beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Belew; mother, Mary Mayes; sister, Anita Mayes; daughter, Martelle Bearden and husband Luke; son, Joshua Fulgium and wife Cynthia; step-daughter, Brandy Reynolds and husband Jason; step-daughter, April Bice and husband Brian; step-son, Chris Mackey; and a very large and very loved army of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Martie was a very unique woman. Born September 24, 1955, they truly broke the mold when she was created. If she loved you, she loved you deeply and with all of her heart. She was a rebel and hippie by nature, but also the most unselfish woman ever. She would give you the shirt off her back, or the last dollar she had. Even in illness, she worried more about her loved ones than herself. She had a heart of gold and always fought for what she thought was right, never caring what anyone else thought. She also loved her pets, her home, her neighbors, rock and roll and Black Velvet whiskey. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Thanks to all who cared for her in the end, with special thanks to her best friend Charlotte. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services. A special quote taken from Martie's facebook timeline: "Some days you will be the light for others, and some days you will need some light from them. As long as there is light, there is hope, and there is a way." ~~(Jennifer Gayle) Thank you, Martie, for being our light and our glue for so long .... but not long enough. You will never be forgotten and will always be missed. Run with the wolves and fly with the angels!
