Marilyn Sue (Brandon) Morriss, 87, of Springfield, MO, was born October 2, 1938, in Bloodland, MO, to Guy and Martha Brandon. She passed away peacefully in her home on January 27, 2026, knowing she was loved and would be missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Hawkins and Della Smith; grandchildren, Brandon Hawkins, Kirby Hawkins, Quentin (Chacity) Hawkins, Camryn Hawkins and Jennifer Smith; great and great-greatgrandchildren; her sister, Kay Johnson Horsey; and other close family members she adored.

After graduating college at SMS, she began working as a Home Economics teacher, then changed careers after many years as a homemaker. She tirelessly worked as a convenience store clerk and manager, then as an industrial designer for BJ's Trophy Shop. During this time, she earned her second college degree.

When she retired, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing, spending hours on the phone catching up with people, caring for many pets, attending church and outings with her special friends, going to flea markets and thrift shopping. She was a lifelong writer and left a treasure trove for us to enjoy through the tears and years beyond.

A Visitation will be held Monday, February 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland St Springfield, MO, 65807.
