Marilyn Kay Kitts, 72, of Nixa, MO, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. She was born on January 10, 1949, to Soren and Dagney Schmidt in Dike, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Aunt Elsie; her in-laws, Albert and Ann Kitts; and her dear friends, Lowell and Dolly Oesterberg, and Gene and Lani Latta.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; her daughters, Janae Kitts-Windle and husband Stuart, and Jenna Kitts; and her grandson, Elijah.

Marilyn taught the 2nd grade and enjoyed mentoring and sharing her knowledge and creativity. She also taught Apples of Gold at her church in Clinton, Iowa. She loved baking with her grandson, Elijah and was known to her family and friends as "The Hostess with the Mostest!"

A celebration of life will be held in Marilyn's honor Thursday, January 6, at 11:00 AM, in the James River Church South Campus, Meeting Room 1.
