Margie Barker

Margie Barker, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 8, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1954, to Otis and Gertrude Cowden.

Margie grew up in a large and loving household alongside her seven siblings. She later married her husband, Lloyd Barker, and together they built a family that included two daughters, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Margie loved spending time with family and friends, especially while camping at the lake, enjoying the beautiful views and evenings gathered around the campfire. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family, where the friendly wagers often involved honey buns. A talented and determined woman, she enjoyed woodworking and even helped build her own home in Pleasant Hope.

Margie retired from her position as lead staff at Easy Living, where she devoted herself to caring for people with disabilities. She truly loved the people she served and was highly respected by her coworkers for her kindness, compassion, and dedication.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Gertrude Cowden, and two of her siblings. She will be deeply missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, surviving siblings, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday September 13th, 2pm till 4pm at CMH Community Room 2
