Lynn A. Casper, 75 of Nixa, MO, passed away on June 13, 2020. He was born April 9, 1945, in Springfield, MO, to John and Bertie (Roush) Casper.
Lynn attended Riverton High School and St. James Trade School in Bissell, Illinois. He spent his career as a meat cutter at various stores and as the owner/operator of Casper's Market. He took great pride in providing outstanding products and service to his customers who remember him as a happy, personable guy who often whistled as he worked. Lynn would strike up a conversation anywhere he went and enjoyed making new friends as he sat on a bench at Branson Landing, as he fished along the shores of Lake Taneycomo and cruised with his wife. He was an avid NHRA racing fan and met many well-known race drivers across the country. His family will always remember Grandpa as he entertained them with his funny stories and love of music.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mark Casper and Gary Casper and sister, Kendra Smith and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Hankins) and six children: Ken (Brandy) Casper, Toni (Greg) Stephenson, Aarron (Susan) Casper, Heath Howard, Blake (Gayle) Casper and Lance Casper. In addition, he has 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m., with services to follow at 11:30 a.m., June 29, 2020, in the James River Church, West Campus, 3953 West Farm Road 168, Springfield, MO 65807.
