Obituary

Louis Eugene Hedge, 69, of Branson, MO passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Louis, known as Gene was born July 27, 1945, in Chambersburg, PA. He was the son of Lewis and Anna Dorothy Hedge. They moved to Windham, OH, in 1948 and Gene attended Windham High School, graduating in 1963. He loved Windham and remained a huge Bomber fan. In February 2013, Gene moved to Branson, MO, to reside with his daughter Rhonda and her family. He was a bricklayer, but also worked at Harbison Walker and Copperweld. Gene worshipped at the Windham First Church of God and served his country for six years in the Ohio Army National Guard. His greatest passion was deer hunting with his family members and good friends. He also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing cards, and bingo. Memories of Gene will be carried on by his surviving family members, his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Gary Hull of Branson, MO; daughter, Vickie Chonko of Rootstown, OH; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Karen Hedge of Ravenna, OH; his sister and brother-in-law, Carmel and David Dye of Hiram, OH; his brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Mary Hedge of Newton Falls, OH; his grandchildren, Ashley (Joshua) Moore, Blaine Washington, Brandon Wick, Cody Washington, Hunter Hull and Riley Chonko; and his great grandchildren, Gabriella Nieves, Brielle Washington, Lucas Washington, Alaina Washington and Brody Washington. Preceding Gene was his father, Lewis, on October 17, 1990, and his mother, Anna, on February 27, 2011. At his request there will be no funeral services, but instead a celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 11:00 am in the Newton Falls First Church of God, Newton Falls, OH. The family requests that monetary tributes may be made in memory of Gene to Windham Athletic Booster Club 9530 Bauer Ave., Windham, OH 44288 payable to Windham Athletic Boosters-Attn: Kim Mclean. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield, MO.
