IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lola Mae
Stowe
October 10, 1935 – February 3, 2019
??Lola Mae Stowe was born on October 10, 1935 in Pasadena, California and went home to be with her Lord on February 3, 2019 in Springfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Ruth Turner; sister, Lorraine; and brother, David. She leaves behind her sister, Eileen; brother, George; son and daughter-in-law, John and Tracey Stowe; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Vincent; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Furlong; and daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Lynn Brown. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren she left behind that she loved deeply, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family. She was so proud of each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed hearing about all the new adventures and exciting times happening in their lives.
There were many other family and friends across the states that will miss her greatly. This includes all her dear friends in the Norfolk, Virginia area, whom she missed greatly and spoke of often. There are also many of the new friends she made in the Forsyth County, Georgia area and in Springfield, Missouri. She will be missed by all for her laughter, sense of humor, and loving friendship she had with all of them.
Lola enjoyed her career as an x-ray technician for many years and loved helping people during their difficult times in the hospital. She loved animals of all kinds, but some of her favorites were Robert and Lisa's dogs-Fergus and Watson, and their cats-Kismet and Rincewind. They were her "buddies" through and through and she missed them quite a bit when she moved to Springfield. She made some new furry friends in Springfield with John and Tracey's dogs-Vinnie, Alice, and Sprout. She loved to have them curl up in her lap and so they could get lots of love and attention from "grandma".
Lola's final wish was for her body to be donated to science for research and education. Her children were able to fulfill this wish with her donation to the United Tissue Network of America. Lola would have been so proud and full of joy to know that she will continue to help the scientific community for years to come with her selfless act. She truly wanted to help future physicians and scientists learn from her to make the world a better and healthier place for all.
Lola would want her family and friends that are hurting and mourning her loss to be encouraged with the following Biblical truths:
Philippians 4:7
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
Revelation 21:4
"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
