Linda Kay Hughes, 68, a lifelong resident of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born March 22, 1955, to Albert and Georgia Young.

She was united in marriage to her loving husband George R Hughes. They had several life experiences together one of which was owning a bar that she had always dreamt of named Xanadu. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was devoted to her family and friends. She never met a stranger and would always extend a hand when needed. Linda was truly one of a kind and to know her was to love her. Many others considered Linda to be a sister, mom, grandmother, aunt or friend.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Alexander; her brother, Jack Young, brother-in-law, Richard "Bubby" Dodd; and nephew, John "Pete" Tracy.

Linda is survived by her husband, George; her children, Jimmy and wife Dena Young, Ronda Boyer, Marlana and husband Mike Kimmis; and Junior and Amanda Hughes; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren that she deeply loved; her brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 pm with a service to follow at 3:00 pm at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
