Carter
July 21, 1943 – July 30, 2025
Linda Sue Carter of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 30th, 2025, at the age of 82. Linda was constantly surrounded by family and love and cared for by many wonderful people at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri.
Born on the family farm in Stark City, Missouri on July 21st, 1943, to the late Mary and James Turner, she grew up with a sharp wit and radiant beauty that would lead to a life full of legacy.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her brother, Danny Turner. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her three devoted sons: David (Andrea) Carter, Doug (Cindi) Carter, and Darin (Michelle) Carter, who were the pride and joy of her life. Linda also leaves behind a loving legacy through her grandchildren: Alivia (Brinnan) Sutton, Hunter (Tara) Carter, Caitlin and Bella Carter, Brady (Latisha) Reynolds, and Callie and Jesse Carter. Her great-grandchildren, Brynlee Reynolds and Sadie Carter, brought her endless joy and laughter in her later years. She was also cherished by her nieces, Beth, Lori, and Amy.
Linda's life was filled with love and laughter. Her quick humor and spirited personality made her unforgettable to all who knew her. It was that very spark that caught the eye of her devoted partner, Greg Daugherty. Their bond was one of true companionship and warmth.
Linda will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her keen sense of humor, and the way she made every room brighter just by being in it.
A private family service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold your loved ones close and share a laugh in Linda's memory - just as she would've wanted.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
