Leslie Franklin Workman, 68, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, while doing one of the things that he loved the most, riding his motorcycle. He was born August 24, 1957, to Colleen Martz in Joplin, MO. She met and married Grayson Workman, who loved Leslie and quickly adopted him as his own son. 

Leslie had a wonderful childhood. After school he became a successful welder even teaching the trade to students at Franklin Technical Community College. His work travels took him around the world. He survived an earthquake in Mexico and the Joplin tornado. He had many stories about his overseas adventures.

A strong man with strong faith, Leslie enjoyed building relationships. He was an awesome brother, a helpful neighbor and was always willing to lend a hand. It didn't matter what the task was Leslie was always giving of his skills and time.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Leslie is survived by his significant other of 15 1/2 years, Karen Clement; three siblings, one brother and two sisters, Grayson and wife Terri Workman, Lori and husband Jeff Pyles, and Lorene and husband Dan Livingston; Bob and Florine Clement and family, Linda Losornio, Bill and Rose Pinegar, Russ and Deb Essary, and Dave and Jason, who said they always felt safer with Leslie in the neighborhood.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his home which he loved so much on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1 PM, 1130 S. Thelma Ave, Springfield, MO 65807. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
