Lawrence Lee Kelley was born November 22nd, 1972, in Aurora, MO, and passed away Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, in Springfield, MO, from a combination of health issues.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Kelley, and John Ackley. He leaves his surviving family of his wife, Kimberly Kelley; son, Jordan Kelley; his daughters, Lakeira and Draya Kelley; and four sisters, Delita Kelley, Stephanie Ackley, Misti McCleary, Marla Ernest and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and so on.
Lawrence led a full and active life to the end and the achievement he was most proud of was his family; son, Jordan Kelley; daughters, Lakeira Kelley and Draya Kelley; and wife, Kimberly Kelley; sisters, Delita Kelley, Misti McCleary, Stephany Ackley, and Marla Ernest. Sisters-in-law; Amy and Teresa Greathouse.
With many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, many others also thought of Lawrence as a brother, father, Grandfather, uncle, or friend. To know Lawrence was to love him and be annoyed by him.
Lawrence was a man with a strong will and a stubborn nature, there was many things in life he was proud of; firefighter, soldier, storm spotter, athlete, outdoorist, and longtime Christian and member of Hood Methodist Church of Republic. He served God And others through his actions, always volunteering to help others or be there to support others in their time in need.
Lawrence loved to explore and travel, had a great since of humor, and was a huge music fan. He loved the bands Pink Floyd, Depesh Mode, and Gorillaz.
If you knew Lawrence you knew he was a veteran, that was his proudest achievement and shared it with everyone he could, but mostly he just loved bringing joy to family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 15th at 10 am, in the Springfield State Veterans Cemetery for a military honors ceremony (5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804), with a memorial service to follow at 11:15 AM in the Hood Methodist Church in republic (139 N Walnut Ave, Republic, MO 65738). Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
