Laura Teegarden was born on June 26, 1945 to George and Kay Espy of Springfield, MO, and died on January 11, 2021 at Quail Creek Care Center in Springfield, MO.

Laura went to Southwest Missouri State University to get her teaching degree, and later went back and obtained her Master's Degree in 1969. She taught school for 30 years in the Springfield Public Schools, teaching at Sherwood, Fremont, and Jeffries elementary, and retired in 1996. Later she worked at Goldminds, a toy and educational supply store for 10 years.

Laura loved to read using her Kindle while working out at the gym. One of the things she had a passion for was shopping, especially when it came to shoes and purses. Laura loved her cat, Shadow, who she missed dearly when away from home. She also liked going to nearby casinos with some of her teacher friends. She was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, MO.

Laura is survived by her husband, Holmes Teegarden of Nixa, MO. She is also survived by her sister, Susie Espy of San Jose, CA; daughter, Tiffin Teegarden of Nixa, MO; son, Toby Teegarden and wife Kelley of Springfield, MO; and Laura's precious grandchildren, Alicen and Emey Teegarden.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Quail Creek skilled nursing home for the special care during the past year and hospice for the last few weeks.

A celebration of life will be a family affair at a later date. Laura's urn will be placed in a niche at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
