Larry Dean Harris (65) and Frances Allene Cringan Harris (65) passed away in a truck accident on February 22, 2017.

Larry, known to those who loved him as "Smiley", was born on February 13, 1952 in Kirksville, MO, to Lloyd Raymond Harris, Sr. and Mary Alice Pennell, who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Hardin High School (class of 1970). Siblings: David Blackford (Lamar, MO), Lloyd Jr. (Rushville, MO), Mary Ann Hartman (deceased 1998), Jon (Seneca, MO), James (Rayville, MO), Susy Hartman (Norman, OK), Nancy Root (Lexington, MO), and William Joseph (Hardin, MO).

Fran, known to those who loved her as "Sunshine", was born on February 1, 1952 in Lexington, MO, to Roscoe William Cringan and Bertha Lucille Whelchel, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1971. Siblings: Loretta Cunningham (Crane, MO), Nina Caylor (Lawson, MO), Mary LaFollette (Kansas City, MO), Lola Caylor (Richmond, MO), William Cringan (Richmond, MO), Celeste Cringan (Monett, MO).

Larry and Fran were married on June 3, 1972 in Richmond, MO and fully enjoyed every minute of their nearly 45 years together. Their kindness, humor, and loving spirits were on constant display throughout their lives and touched everyone who was lucky enough to meet them. Larry and Fran were over-the-road ammunition and explosives haulers who spread friendship and laughter across the country; they never met a stranger. Larry was an avid hunter, but will forever be remembered for his distinctive laugh and his twisted sense of humor. Fran made a mean German apple cake and greeted everyone with open arms and an open heart.

They are survived by their children, Paul Aaron (San Francisco, CA) and Seth Brandon (Monett, MO).

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11:30 AM – 4:00PM at the Amelie Event Center in Joplin, MO, 104 S. Joplin Avenue.
