IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kelvin
Allen
February 15, 1953 – September 18, 2023
Kelvin Lynn Allen was born on February 15, 1953.
He entered into eternal glory on September 18, 2023.
He married Linda Wood on September 18, 1971.
Yes, he held on until he completed 52 years of marriage to his bride. He loved her with all his heart.
Together, they have three children, Raymond Dee Allen of Del City, OK, Jason Kelvin Allen of Rogersville, MO, and Lorie Ann Allen of Oklahoma City, OK.
Kelvin loved people, music, and most of all his family. He spent his vocational life working in the soft drink business, starting with Dr. Pepper when he was in his early teens. In 1982, Kelvin moved his family to Oklahoma City and began a career working with Pepsi Cola. Kelvin loved working for Pepsi mostly due to the people he met along the way, eventually retiring in 2009 after 27 years.
Upon retirement, Kelvin learned how to become a stay-at-home husband and a professional Grandpa. He spent his retirement years traveling across the US to visit his grandkids and make as many memories as possible.
Some of his favorite things were stocking the pine pantry in Oklahoma City, drinking black coffee with family and friends, playing the guitar with and for anyone who would listen, and talking with strangers. He loved sharing his home with Lorie's foster children, Jason's military friends, Raymonds friends, his grandkids and their many friends, and anyone else who knocked on the door.
He is preceded in death by his Father William (Dub) Allen, Mother Vera Louise Allen, and his brother Richard Leon Allen. He is survived in life by his wife of 52 years Linda Ellen Allen, daughter Lorie Ann Allen, son Raymond Allen, daughter in law Billie Allen, son Jason Allen and daughter in law Laurie Allen, granddaughter Amber Allen, grandson Brandon Allen and granddaughter in law Sofia Allen, two great grandsons Bradley and Arthur Allen, brother Jerry Dewayne Allen, two sisters Marjorie Elaine Glenn and Cynthia Marie Allen, and mother in law Mary Ellen Wood, brother in law Chuck Rutledge and sister in law Connie Rutledge as well as a host of many other family and friends.
The family will receive friends and family beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday September 23, 2023, at Henderson Baptist Church, 121 State Hwy B, Rogersville, MO, with a celebration of life service to follow at 2:00 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
