Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of Mr. Keith Clark from this world. Born to Glen and Mildred Clark in September of 1937, he lived and farmed with his brothers Don and Alton (Bud) and a sister Betty in northeast Nebraska. In 1962 he married his lifelong love Starlyn (Robinson) Clark. They honored their vows tenaciously, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. Together they had four children: Lorraine Brown of Salem, MO, Linda Slagle, Richard Clark, and Monica George who all survive him and live in the Springfield area. They were also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Starlyn Clark; his sister Betty; as well as Bud's wife Audrey and Don's wife Marian; his children, grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews in Nebraska, and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

A proud member of the Baptist community he most recently attended Grandview Baptist Church.

Keith provided for his family over the years by being a farm laborer and truck driver. He had a passion for the outdoors; hunting and fishing were two things he shared with all his children and grandchildren. As word of his passing spread comments like, "He may have been the world's worst fisherman and the world's worst deer hunter but he never gave up. Just like he never gave up on any of his heart attacks, strokes, or cancer - he was a real fighter," and "I always knew him as a kind man, always ready with a smile and a pleasant word. He taught me how to fish, the importance of patience, and how to accept failure as a stepping stone to success." "He always did right by me" have been shared by those who loved him most. Any who pause to remember him will also remember he was seldom without his ball cap, usually with the bill pointed a little bit too high or slightly tilted, fish stories and fish tales alike. His philosophy was that there weren't any strangers, just people he hadn't met yet. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will also be sorely missed.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 12, 2018, in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
