Kathleen (Kelly) J. Cullen was born on June 9, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Merlin and Betty Griffith. Kathy was raised in Chicago and came to relax in Springfield, MO, to enjoy fishing and having a beautiful lake-view home in Kimberling City, MO. Her favorite past time was to be with her amazing husband, loving sons, and her adorable granddaughters (one which serves in the United States Air Force and is currently stationed in Korea). Kathy was one to talk and talk. There was never talking for a few minutes, it was more like an hour every time. Lol. Mom had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. She always wanted to fix things and never wanted to see us stress. She would always say to her granddaughters "give me all your bad dreams and I will give you all my good ones . She was truly an amazing person. Lord, you definitely have a Varsity player in heaven. On July 11, 2014, at 1:13 am, Kathy was called to heaven by God. Now and forever she will watch over all of our family and friends like an Angel of God. For many years Kathy was in severe and chronic pain stemming from spine surgeries, COPD, Emphysema, and to eventually have her life taken by pancreatic cancer. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, James Cullen; amazing sons, Dwayne and Neil Kwiatkowski; adoring granddaughters, Kara Clum, Kelsey and Kaitlyn Kwiatkowski; great grandson, Xavier Clum; brothers, Larry Griffith, Roger Griffith and Bob Fajman; sisters, Jackie Manuel, Anita Langlois, and Jeanine Garman; along with several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held at 4:30 PM, Monday, July 14, 2014, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland St., Springfield, MO 65807. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Neil Kwiatkowksi, 288 River Holw, Spokane, MO 65754, to assist with expenses.
