Obituary

Justin Thomas Cox, of Springfield, MO, age 40, passed away May 15, 2019, in his home surrounded by his loving and devoted mother and step-father, Pam and Rick Vercelli. He fought for 2 years a hard and brave fight against an inoperable and malignant brain tumor.
Justin was born July 1, 1978, in Springfield, MO. He attended Parkview High School; where his friends nicknamed him "Rooster", a name that stayed with him his whole life.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Kuwait and was very proud of his service as an Army Ranger. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for Dal-Tile and relocated to several states with them. Since his mother always told him he had wanderlust in his veins at a very early age this job suited him well. He finally landed in Austin, TX, and said he had found home. Illness brought him back to Springfield.
Justin loved his vintage cars, Harley motorcycles, Elvis (he got that from his mom!) and his two faithful companion dogs, Harlie and Remy that traveled with him everywhere.
Justin is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Pam (Thomas) and Rick Vercelli; his dad, Charlie Cox (Patricia); a grandmother, Willadean Hunter, his aunt and uncle, Tamara and Andy Stark; and his buddy and bestie dog, Remy, and many other family members and friends.

Pam and Rick would like to thank Hospice Compassus and especially nurse Karolyn for all of their wonderful care of Justin these last months.

Per Justin's request, no service is planned and cremation has been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services. Military Honors will be rendered at 9 am, Thursday, May 23, 2019, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with placement of the urn in the wall to follow.

Rest in peace now my son, you are always and forever in my heart. Always Loved! Momma
