Julie Ann Simone (nee Ombrello) of Brookline went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2026 at home
after a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 24, 1944 in Ishpeming, MI (known as God's country), the daughter of the late Salvatore Ombrello and the late Betty Lou Dunstan (Ombrello).
For over 40 years she worked as a Paralegal for several attorneys in Michigan and Arizona, and lastly for the City of Springfield from where she retired at the age of 62. Gifted with a green thumb, she spent much of her time tending to her multitude of plants affectionately referred to as “Julie's Jungle”. She enjoyed reading, crossword and sudoku puzzles, listening to music and working in her flower bed which was her happy place.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Angelette (Richard) Rudd of Billings, and Patricia Ann Di Maria (ex-Warras) of Gwinn, MI; two sons, Jeffrey Paul Di Maria of Aventura, FL, and Jason Michael Di Maria of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Samantha Jo (Randy) Eberle, Michael David (Emily) Warras, Brandon Lee (Kaelei) Taylor, and Madison Selene (Thomas) Warras-Schetter; and five great-grandchildren, Hayden MacKenzie Eberle, Harlow Gray Eberle, Hollister Von Eberle, Malleri Grace Taylor, Hugo Charles Schetter, and Stormi Lou Schetter.
She was preceded in death by her father Salvatore Ombrello, mother Betty Lou Dunstan, step-father Charles Lowell Dunstan, husband Pete Simone, ex-husband James Frederick Di Maria, and son James Scott Di Maria.
Per her request, no funeral or celebration of life will be held.
