Judy Kay Freeman, 78, passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO with family by her side.

She was born January 3rd, 1945, to Emerson Lavaughn Thompson and Iva Gerwren McAffee of Dunklin County MO. She moved to Springfield after attending College of the Ozarks and John Brown University, with a degree in social services.  She married the love of her life, CB Freeman December 29th, 1972. She worked as a Quality Control Case Analyst with the Division of Family Services for 33 years until her retirement.

Judy enjoyed her remaining years socializing with family and good friends.  She loved spoiling her fur babies and working well into the night with challenging jigsaw puzzles.  All who knew her, loved her, and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her two siblings, Marvin and Dwight Thompson; her nieces, Heather Grootens and Lori VanHorn.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Tamara Thompson; nieces, Susan Procter and Angela Thompson of Springfield; nieces, Mary Tillison and Francine Lee both of GA; and several close friends and neighbors.

Graveside services will be announced and held at a later date.

She would be honored, if donations be sent, in lieu of flowers, to her two favorite charities; St. Jude and American Lung Association or a charity of your choice, in her name.
