Obituary

Juanita (Ipock) Wakefield left her weary, earthly body and departed this life on June 23, 2017. She was ready to go. We know that she is now in the presence of her Savior and a host of loved ones whom she has greatly missed for so long.

She was born July 22, 1935, in Cedar Gap, Missouri, to Walter and Elva Ipock, who preceded her in death, and grew up on the family farm there. She attended Mansfield Missouri schools, where she made friendships that were retained for life. She married Don "Cap" Wakefield, originally of Hartville, Missouri, December 5, 1953, and they spent the rest of their lives loving each other, until his death in 2010. Together they had five children who were the focus of their lives.

Juanita and "Cap" ministered together both inside and outside the church house and positively impacted more people than they could ever know. Juanita was staunch in her beliefs regardless of the subject, and she possessed a dry wit that seemed to appear out of nowhere, which was great fun. For those who joined the family later as in-laws, she offered immediate acceptance and unconditional love and loyalty. In a time when Homemaker was considered a valued and respected calling, she set a high bar for excellence.

Juanita is survived by a brother, Walter "Junior" Ipock of Rogersville; a son, Brad Wakefield and wife Margie of Rogersville; a daughter Candy Johnson, and husband Randy of Rogersville; a daughter Nan Parnell, and husband Jeff of Garrison; a daughter Jill Ashley, of Rogersville, and son Clint Wakefield, also of Rogersville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them all, and they loved her back.

A handwritten line in the margin of Juanita's Bible reads "God does not bless us just for our individual benefit, but that the blessings flow to others".

Juanita was indeed blessed, and through her life, His blessings continue to flow to others.

A celebration of Juanita's life will be held at The Summit Church, 1605 MO-125, Rogersville, MO, Monday, June 26, at 2:00 pm
