In Loving Memory of Juanita Lucy Stripling

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Juanita Lucy Stripling, age 68, a loving mother of five, devoted wife, proud grandmother, caring sister, and cherished dear friend to so many.  Juanita passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by love and family.

Juanita was born on July 5, 1957, in St Louis City, Missouri, a daughter of Howard and Goldie Lucy.  She was one of ten children and shared a close bond with her nine siblings.

She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1976, and throughout her life, she carried the same warmth, strength, and kindness that her family and friends will always remember.

Juanita spent much of her career with Kroger, where she worked as a butcher for many years before later joining the floral department.  She took great pride in her work and loved brightening people's days whether through a friendly conversation at the counter or a bouquet she thoughtfully arranged.  She retired after many years of hard work and services.

Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Lucy; and by her former husband and father of 4 children, Eugene Kramer, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage.

Juanita leaves behind her devoted husband, Jack Stripling; her loving children, Robert (Brandi) Merritt, Nick (Christina) Lembcke, Melanie (Chris) Keown, Christine Kramer, Jessica (CJ) Umunnakwe, and Doug (Kim) Stripling; grandchildren, Adam Merritt, Elise Bowman Stavinoha, Quinn Umunnakwe, Ashley Keown, Mason Keown, Ethan Stripling, and Jude Stripling; and great-grandson, Ash Keown.

She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Barbara Gooch, James (Sue) Lucy, Ken (Juanita) Lucy, Delores (Robert) Braddy, Amanda Kaut; Linda (Greg) Book, William (Tana) Lucy, and Karen (Dave) Doyle; along with several nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Juanita had a generous heart and incredible spirit – she loved her family fiercely, found joy in simple moments, and made everyone around her feel cared for. Growing up, she instilled the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right – values she carried throughout her life and passed on to her children and grandchildren.

A celebration of Life honoring Juanita will be held on November 22, 2025, at South Shore Harbour Resort 2500 South Shore Blvd. League City, TX 77573, where family and friends will gather to remember her beautiful life, share stories, and celebrate the love she gave so freely.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society. https://donate.cancer.org .

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
