Joyce Elaine Cripe, 83 of Springfield, MO, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. She was born on October 1939 in South Bend, IN to Richard and Elizabeth "Betty" Shade.

Joyce was the first of three children and grew up on a farm in North Liberty, IN. On January 6, 1957, she married Ronald Cripe. Together they had six children. Joyce moved to Springfield in 2002, following the death of her husband.

She enjoyed talking to friends and family, listening to music, watching birds and other animals in nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Betty Shade; a sister, Sandra Rowe; her husband, Ronald Cripe; and her oldest son, Michael Cripe.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Smith, Greenville, PA, Rhonda Myers, Christine Eddy, West Plains, MO, Dawn Cripe, Springfield, MO and David Cripe, Springfield, MO.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 1707 Chestnut Expwy, Springfield, MO.
