Obituary
Joshua Brooks - a devoted son & brother - died unexpectedly on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the young age of 40.
Born Joshua Wayne Standing Bear Brooks on August 14, 1978 in Minot AFB, North Dakota to Ruth Brooks (Beeson) and Richard Brooks. After moving from Minot AFB, to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska and then finally relocating to Republic, Missouri in his youth, Joshua graduated from Republic High School. Joshua received his Associates Degree from Ozarks Technical Community College. Joshua was active in Scouting and proud to have received the rank of Life Scout.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Ruth & Richard Brooks; his daughter Alannah; his siblings, Kelly Ann (Kenny) Banning, Jason & Amy; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Joshua will be forever remembered as a loyal and trustworthy friend, as someone who loved his family, and lived his life with a kind & open heart. Joshua loved his St Louis Cardinals, and was always the first with a joke or funny story. He was approachable, always made friends easily & was admired by anyone who met him. Joshua was generous, giving, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date on Joshua's public Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made directly to Shriners Hospitals for Children — St. Louis, or to Boy Scouts of America.
