Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Joshua Wayne Anson, 43, on the morning of Friday, December 6, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on February 3, 1981, in Temple, Texas, Joshua was a cherished son of John Bannister and Sharolyn Anson. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Joshua's journey began at Parkview High School, where he found joy in choir and wrestling, nurturing his passions along the way. Following high school, he took a brave step by attending Job Corps in San Marcos, Texas, to pursue a career in security. It was during this pivotal time that he met his loving wife, Candice Anson, in 2003. Together, they built a beautiful family, treasuring every moment with their three wonderful children: their daughter, Codie, and their sons, Joshua and Jacob. Their story is a heartfelt reminder of the power of love and the joy of family.

Family was at the core of who Joshua was, and he found immense happiness in cooking and gaming. His life's journey included serving as both a Death Row Prison Guard and a soldier in the Army—roles he embraced with dedication and courage. Joshua had a remarkable ability to share positivity and strength with everyone around him, leaving a profound impact on the lives he touched. His warm spirit and compassion will always be remembered as a source of inspiration and support.

As we grieve his loss, we also remember the pain of his beloved mother, Sharolyn McGuire, from St. Louis, Missouri, and his dear brother, Zachary Peterson, from Springfield, Missouri, who both passed away before him. Their absence is deeply felt, and they will forever hold a place in our hearts.

Joshua's memory lives on through his loving wife and children, his father John, and his caring stepmother Lori. He is profoundly missed by his siblings: Leah Holt, Sherry Anson, Samantha Agbenowoko and her husband Koffi, Rebecca Peterson, and Dexter Bannister. Joshua also leaves behind a cherished circle of family, including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will hold him close in their hearts. In this time of sorrow, we come together to honor his life and the love he shared with us all.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
