Joseph Patrick Urbain, age 61, of Bois D'Arc, MO, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was taken suddenly from complications of heart failure but he was surrounded by his family and friends. Joe was born January 27, 1957, in Davenport, IA to Joseph and Gladys Urbain.

Joe attended Moline, IL, schools in the Quad Cities, where he later was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Christine Urbain. He also served in the U.S. Army. In the early eighties, Joe moved to the Ozarks where he made his home with Gaylen Moore for 33 years, being a father to Curtis and Brandon Moore.

Joe was a skilled carpenter and put his heart and soul into all that he did. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman; with a great passion for cooking, music, being a Papa, and spending time with family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jeff Urbain, son, Brandon Moore; and granddaughter, Melana Shepard.

He is survived by Gaylen Moore of the home; daughters, Jennifer Urbain, Dubuque, IA and Christine Urbain, Bolivar, MO; son, Curtis Moore and wife LeAnn of Strafford, MO; sisters, Kathleen Nelson, Springfield, MO and Linda Chambers and husband Greg, Portland, OR; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Ashley, Brayden, Cassie, Conner, Ellie, Amy, Kally and Jaxon; two great-grandchildren, Kya and Daisy; in-laws, Wayne and Dolores Vandergrift; brother-in-law, Allen Vandergrift; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held from 2-3 PM, with services following at 3 PM, Monday, April 2, in the Chapel at Elfindale, 1701 S Fort, Springfield. Private burial of the urn will occur after the services in the Clear Creek Cemetery.
