IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Marlin
Fahl
December 18, 1932 – May 12, 2022
Joseph M. Fahl, 89, passed away May 12, 2022. He was born December 18, 1932, in Reading, PA, to Charles and Rosa Fahl. The family moved to Springfield, MO in 1940, where his father started a church. At the young age of 7, Joseph asked Jesus to be his Savior. His father and grandfather were both pastors and he himself felt a call to the ministry while still a teenager. After graduating from Central High School, he went on to attend Midwest Bible Institute of St. Louis and began pastoring in Millersburg, IL. He then pastored a church in North Dupo, IL for 8 years. He loved and served his Savior for the rest of his life. His passion was bringing people to Jesus.
In 1958, he married his loving wife, Lois and to this union three children were born: Rachel, Joseph and David. They moved to Nixa, MO in October of 1963, where Joe became the pastor of Calvary Bible Church. The family would remain a part of the congregation there until December of 2003. From there they went to Ridgecrest, where he served as the Visitation Pastor from 2004 to 2019. He spent hours studying the Bible for himself and others. Joe loved gardening and grew bushels of tomatoes to give away with handwritten cards to those he visited. Unfortunately, COVID brought retirement due to visiting restrictions and nursing home shutdowns.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rosa Fahl; his brother, Robert Fahl; and his sister, Elma Fahl-Hess.
Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Fahl; his children, Rachel Stucky and husband Bruce, Joseph Fahl and wife Ginny, and David Fahl of the home; his grandchildren, Esther Motsinger and husband Tyler, Jonathan Fahl, Rebecca Gurrola and husband Elijah, Benjamin Fahl, and Michael Fahl; his great grandchildren, Kelcie Motsinger, Jahlie Motsinger and Peyton Motsinger; his twin sister, Mary Jones and husband Denzil; his brother, Donald Fahl and wife Diana; nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many members of his church family.
Services will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 3:00pm.
