Josefay Woods

Josefay Woods, 64, of Springfield, MO passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026. She was born May 27, 1961, to James and Maybelle Martin in Fort Worth, TX.

Josefay was known for her feisty personality, outgoing nature, and free-spirited way of life. She had a giving heart and never hesitated to lend a hand or share a laugh with those around her. Above all else, she was proud of being a mother and grandmother, and her family meant everything to her.

She enjoyed spending her time fishing, swimming with an ice-cold Coors Light in hand, and trying her luck gambling. Josefay lived life on her own terms and made lasting memories with the people she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Horton; her parents; brothers, John and James Martin; sisters, Barbara Morgan and Dee Dee Martin; and her nephew, Jeremy Horton.

Josefay is survived by her children, Dustin and Paula Reynolds and Dominique Schiffman; grandchildren, Marilyn, Dustin Jr., and Lillian Reynolds; and her sisters, Sandie Martin and JoAnna Murrow.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family is planning to hold a Celebration of Life in Texas at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
